HOUSING RIGHTS CENTER - Our mission is to actively support and promote fair housing through education and advocacy to the end that all persons
have the opportunity to secure the housing they desire and can afford, without discrimination based on their
race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, familial status, marital status, disability, ancestry,
age, source of income or other characteristics protected by law.
LOS ANGELES RENTAL OWNERS KNOWLEDGE SERVICES - LAROKS was conceived for the purpose of filling the need in housing
services for the dissemination of information to landlords and real estate professionals in reference to the application of
rent control or stabilization ordinances in Southern California. From this concept sprang
forth the need for collateral services to landlords, tenants, real estate professionals, and others involved in residential
rental properties in Southern California.
LOS ANGELES HOUSING DEPARTMENT - The Rent Stabilization Ordinance (RSO) covers rental housing units within Los Angeles city limits. Telephone (213) 808-8888
or 1-866-557-RENT [7368] for more information on rental units covered by the RSO. A complaint can be filed by any tenant
who has documentation that shows that an owner/manager/agent has committed a violation of the Rent Stabilization Ordinance
of the City of Los Angeles.
CODE ENFORCEMENT DIVISION, CITY OF LOS ANGELES - If you believe that there are Housing Code violations in your unit or the surrounding common areas, you can file a complaint
with the Los Angeles Housing Department. There is no fee for filing a complaint. You cannot be evicted for filing a complaint.
Complaints by phone can be left anonymously but must include the property address, unit number (if the violation exists inside
the unit), nature of the complaint and a contact phone number for the inspector to arrange to meet you for an inspection.
